I'm sorry to hear that. Public service, especially when there is a very large amount of politics involved, is a nasty combination no matter the country.

I wish Idris all the best and can only hope that the "problems" get out of his way and let him do the job.

TQ Miki. His honesty and sincerity and his typical resolve to deliver is putting him in very grave dangers in his new appointment in the public service. It reminds me of Serpico the Honest Policeman. The new appoinment will either make or break Idris,or some one else. This gem of a man is being put into a very tight and volatile spot. The public service is a totally new playing field from the corporate world he knows so well. Depending on how dogged he holds on to his principle, I fear he may not last more than 2 years. He will be admired by millions of hapless and helpless people, but he may become the target for elimination by a few unseen "demons". His first mission will have to be "building a winning coalition" in the public administration. If he can build an honest coalition, the rest will be his cup of tea.

To sum it all up in very few words, Idris is an honest and sincere person. All the differences come from there.
