Leadership & Personal Development from Around the Web

March 29, 2007 by admin

I signed up with Google Alerts the first of the week, thanks to Des Walsh at Business and Blogging, where I discovered that this wonderful tool existed. I chose the categories Leadership and Personal Development, and I am really impressed by the quantity and the quality of the information that has arrived in my mailbox.

I thought this would be a good day to offer up what I feel are some of the best articles. So without further ado:

This story will definitely uplift you, maybe even make you cry.It is good to be reminded of the resilience of the human spirit and what one person can accomplish if they set their mind to it.

Leadership program celebrates with Abraham Lincoln. I couldn’t help but choose this post. Abraham Lincoln is one of the leaders from the past that I greatly admire.

Check out this Dallas CEO’s “Circle of Growth” philosophy that he applies to his employees. My kind of boss.

I really like this blog, Change Your Thoughts, that arrived in my mailbox under the heading of Personal Development. Read this post on Finding Your Inner Core. Food for the soul.

And speaking of food for the soul, that reminds me that I wanted to bring attention to Liz Strauss’ blog Letting Me Be. Reading the peaceful, inspiring stuff here makes me smile.

Ha! I received on of my own post on Leadership! Felt good to see that.

This is great to see. Young women are being taught how to become great leaders with a program called Campus to Congress.

Here is the quote under the title of the blog Slow Leadership. “Real leadership isn’t an instant activity any more than a healthy diet is a hamburger, fries and a large soda.” There is some really good stuff on this blog, like this post, Real Courage is Learning When to Let Go.

That’s it for today. I think I will make doing a round up of the best from Google Alerts on Leadership and Personal Development a once a week thing. There are a lot of great articles out there, they need to be shared. I hope everyone is having a happy and prosperous Thursday. See you back here tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
