My Thoughts on Luck

I just discovered that today is theme day for the B5 business channel so I decided to join in. Today’s theme is luck…mmhhh, is there such a thing as luck? I’m skeptical by nature, so my immediate response is no. I’d rather call it timing. Calling it luck leaves out the personal component. You can’t just sit on your bum and expect good things to happen.

But there are wonders in this world that are hard to explain, a dimension beyond our comprehension, forces working in the background that we know nothing about, this I believe. Is that luck? Maybe. However, believing that would be too spooky, so I’ll just keep on rationalizing and calling it timing.

Or we could throw this all out the window and go with what Mark Twain had to say about luck. “Name the greatest of all inventors. Accident.”
