Update on Setting Goals
Michelle written about setting goals a while back. This topic is a personal favorite of mine and would like to write more about it in the future.
In the meantime you may want to read about the Power of Goals I have written before. In an excerpt:
I was not the most intelligent kid in school. I was not the smartest kid in class. I was not the best student ever.
One thing I am sure of is I am the most ambitious person you can ever meet. As it turned out a few years after graduation I began to see the difference of the course of my career compared to all my peers. The differentiator was not I.Q. for mine was way behind some of my super genius peers. The biggest difference was the goals I set to myself compared to the goals they set to themselves.

As a self-employed freelance writer, I feel that goals and ambition are the only things that stand between me and poverty. They give life order when routines are flexible and downtime can be expansive…if you let it.

I concur with Kate: the additive that keeps me as an independent consultant on track is quantifiable milestones…. being accountable to specific targets with measurable accomplishments on my way to acheiving a defined goal.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Goal setting involves such personal nuances, that it’s hard to know what works for everyone. Glad that you’ve found something that makes you successful.
